The Swedish Skype Circus – Episode 17

First, I’d like to give a shout out to all my Swedish followers; thanks for reading!

While trying to get to know my readers, I found out that the flags of Wilmington, Delaware, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, are modeled after the Swedish flag in remembrance of the short-lived colony of New Sweden, so we’re closer than you think!

Okay, on to the crazy that is our wonderful medium-sized company…

A few funny things have been going on recently involving our marketing efforts, so I’m going to give you some shorts within a short, story that is.

  • During one of our morning meetings the other week, Wendy Ohail, one of our Planners and a member of the Marketing Team, propped her foot up on her knee and proceeded to notice that the back of her sneaker was missing thanks to her mischievous bulldog, Kendall.  When she held it up, a perfect bite shape was there!

  • Wendy again…we’re doing an internal marketing effort around a 2% milk theme.  Wendy got more than she bargained for when she was trying to Google fun tag lines to put on a milk carton Lama.  Here’s a public service announcement: be careful when you Google ‘Got Milk?’ And certainly don’t search for that at work.  I’m surprised her computer didn’t blow up.

  • We’ve recently been employing Skype to reach our out of town sales reps for meetings rather than have them always fly or drive here (smaller footprint!).  Randy McKinnon always puts up an interesting handmade sign in the background to entertain us.  Ultimately though, I think this You Tube video pretty much sums up our Skype experience.

In addition to Skype, we also like to employ other video options, so we can communicate with our customers, as well as get live footage of manufacturing activities to quickly problem solve and/or support their needs.
